Gregory Vershbow joins Visual Studies as an instructor and post-doc. An artist working at the intersection of photography, science, and history, Vershbow received his MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and taught most recently at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. At UW, he participated in research research on color perception and molten salt fission reactors. His work can be found in the collections of the National Academy of Science, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Getty Museum, Harvard University and Smith College. This fall he is teaching Historical Science Fiction for the Visual Artist (Historical Futures, Speculative Pasts) and in the Spring will teach Investigative Photography for Scientists and Artists.
