This summer, the Visual Studies program has awarded two independent research projects and four on-campus internships to Visual Studies majors.
Derek Rodenbeck ('20) is traveling to Japan to photograph and learn traditional woodblock printing. Pablo Borra-Paley ('20) is studying representational and non-representationsl visual sports training environments in VR.
Natasha Cheung ('20) is working with Sharon Hayes (FNAR) and Brooke O'Harra on the Penn Performance Intensive. Jessica Moh ('20) is assisting with Kayla Romberger (FNAR) for Publishing as Practice Publication. Min Park ('21) is helping Jackie Tileston (FNAR) with a body of work, "Other Ways of Knowing," and Gracelynn Wan ('22) is working Avery Lawrence (FNAR) on a research-based art project, "The Black Line, The Fuzzy Form." Visual Studies summer grants are supported by the Visual Studies Gift Fund.
